Kindergarten (Mrs. Jagnarine)

Getting Ready for Kindergarten 2020-2021

In order to get ready for Kindergarten I have compiled a list of supplies that we will be using for the coming school year:

  • A large bag pack (no wheels please and must be able to fit a folder and jacket during the winter days for COVID-19 to keep belongings apart from others.
  • Lunch box (we do have a snack in our classroom and lunches this year)
  • Large Water bottle to last all day (water fountains will not be used this year during the COVID-19 pandemic).
  • Complete change of clothes (I know that accidents can happen) in a labeled Ziploc bag
  • Sneakers with Velcro rather than laces as children tend to play with their laces and to minimize teacher contact with sneaker laces-thank you) P.s. towards the end of our Kindergarten year, we will learn to tie our laces.

Parent and teacher communications are an important aspect of our child’s education, learning, and growth. I will use a communication app called ClassDojo where we will be able to send messages and I will be able to send reminders or any notifications which need to be shared as a class. I do share pictures too from time to time- a permission slip will be sent home in the first week of school.  I encourage parents or families to message me any time a situation arises or any concerns that you may have about your child or our classroom.  I can always be reached at my email address at sjagnarine@materdolorosaschool.org

Over the summer, continue to read to your child. Encourage explaining our feelings, coloring, and reading books by talking about pictures and what is happening on the pages. Thank you,
