Dear Parents and Students,

Monday, 11/2 – School Mass “All Souls’ Day” in the school’s gymnasium at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to attend.
Wednesday, 11/4 – School Banking Day
Wednesday, 11/4 – PTO Spaghetti Supper (4 – 6:30 PM)
Friday, 11/6 – Report Cards for the First Quarter will be sent home.

Academic Agenda for Week 11/2 – 11/6
Math 8 – Algebra:
The 8th grade class will continue Chapter 4 “Polynomials” with learning Lesson 4-5 “Multiplying Polynomials by Monomials” from their Algebra I Books. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class and homework assignments to help prepare for the Math Quiz on Chapter 4: Lesson 4-5 “Multiplying Polynomials by Monomials” that is scheduled on Friday, 11/6.
Religion 8th Grade:
The 8th grade Religion class will be learning various lessons with using our “Alive in Christ” Religion books, studying the Virtue of Faith, and completing lessons using Studio 3:16. During this week we will continue with Unit 1 “Revelation” with Chapter 3 “The Church Is Holy” in our Religion Books. We will focus on the Scriptures – Luke 12:22-23, 31-34, and Psalm 8:4-7. We will also focus on many different lessons emphasizing “Gratitude” for the month of November. During this school year, we will learn about the Virtue “Act of Faith”. For the month of November we will be learning about the Virtue of Stewardship…….Returning to God the first fruits of your time, talent, and treasure. The Saint we will learn about is Saint Joseph Moscati.
Math 7 – Pre-Algebra:
The 7th grade class will continue Topic 3 “Analyze and Solve Percent Problems” with Lesson 3-4 “Solve Percent Change and Percent Error Problems” from their Envision Math Books – Volume 1, and will align this lesson in their Pre-Algebra books with Chapter 7 “Percents” with Lesson 7-5 “Percent of Change”. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class and homework assignments to help prepare for the Quiz on Topic 3 : Lesson 3-4 “Solve Percent Change and Percent Error Problems” (Lesson 7-5 in the Pre-Algebra book) that is scheduled on Friday, 11/6.
Math 6:
The 6th Grade math class will continue Topic 2 “Integers and Rational Numbers” with Lesson 2-4 “Represent Rational Numbers on the Coordinate Plane” from their Envision Math Books – Volume 1. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class and homework assignments to help prepare for the Quiz on Topic 2 : Lesson 2-4 “Represent Rational Numbers on the Coordinate Plane” that is scheduled on Friday, 11/6. Along with learning our regular math topics, we will continue to reinforce important math skills weekly with Multiplication Facts Quizzes. This week the Multiplication Facts Quiz will be on Wednesday, 11/4 on Lesson 10 “Cumulative Review”.
Math 5 (Homerooms 5-1 and 5-2):
The 5th Grade math classes will continue Topic 3 “Fluently Multiply Multi-Digit Whole Numbers” with learning Lesson 3-4 “Multiply 2-Digit by 2-Digit Numbers” from their Envision Math Books – Volume 1. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class and homework assignments to help prepare for the Math Quiz on Topic 3 : Lesson 3-4 “Multiply 2-Digit by 2-Digit Numbers” that is scheduled on Friday, 11/6. Along with learning our regular math topics, we will continue to reinforce important math skills with completing weekly Multiplication Facts Quizzes. This week the Multiplication Facts Quiz will be on Wednesday, 11/4 on Lesson 5 “Fours and Review”.
