Dear Parents,
The Scholastic Book Club orders are due on Friday, January 30th. Thank you for all the orders that I have already received. I will be able to use the bonus points to obtain some science and creative items for our classroom.
For the past few weeks in Religion, we have been learning about the sacraments. After learning about each sacrament, your child colors a square representing a specific sacrament. Once all the squares are colored, your child will be assembling a sacrament quilt.
We are almost finished with our third myview anthology. The third anthology focused on famous people throughout the world. Therefore, when we return from February vacation your child will be reading a biography of his/her choice and writing a summary of the book. Most of the work for this project will be done in school. More details about this project will be given in future newsletters.
Recently, I have acquired a puzzle table for our classroom and my students are enjoying making the puzzles. So far, we have made 2 one hundred piece puzzles and are currently assembling a three hundred piece puzzle. Our next challenge will be a five hundred piece puzzle! The children are able to work on the puzzle at arrival time, when they have completed an assignment, or at center time.
Our next spelling test will be on Friday, February 6th.

Finally, we will be celebrating Saint Valentine’s Day in our classroom on Friday, February 13th.
