Academic Agenda for Week 9/21 – 9/25
Math 8 – Algebra:
The 8th grade class will continue with learning Chapter 3 “Solving Equations and Problems” with Lesson 3-5 “Equations with the Variable on Both Sides” from their Algebra I Books. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class, and homework assignments to help prepare for the Math Quiz on Chapter 3: Lesson 3-5 “Equations with the Variable on Both Sides” that is sheduled on Friday, 9/25.
Religion 8th Grade:
The 8th grade Religion class will be learning various lessons with using our “Alive in Christ” Religion books, studying the Virtue of Faith, and completing lessons using Studio 3:16. During this week we will continue with Unit 1 “Revelation” with Chapter 2 “Revelation and Faith” in our Religion Books. We will focus on the Scriptures – James 2: 14-17, 1 Timothy 2:3-4, and Luke 17:5-6 During this school year, we will learn about the Virtue of Faith. For the month of September we will be learning about the theme of Faith….Believing in God and all He has revealed, and the Saint we will learn about is Saint Augustine.
Math 7 – Pre-Algebra:
The 7th grade class will continue with learning Topic 1 “Rational Number Operations” with Lesson 1-8 “Divide Integers” from their Envision Math Books – Volume 1. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class and homework assignments to help prepare for the Quiz on Topic 1 : Lesson 1-8 “Divide Integers” that is scheduled on Friday, 9/25.
Math 6:
The 6th Grade math class will continue learning Topic 1 “Use Positive Rational Numbers” with Lesson 1-5 “Divide Fractions by Fractions” from their Envision Math Books – Volume 1. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class and homework assignments to help prepare for the Quiz on Topic 1 : Lesson 1-5 “Divide Fractions by Fractions ” that is scheduled on Friday, 9/25. Along with learning our regular math topics, we will continue to reinforce important math skills weekly with Multiplication Facts Quizzes. This week the Multiplication Facts Quiz will be on Wednesday, 9/23 on Lesson 4 “Threes and Review”.
Math 5 (Homerooms 5-1 and 5-2):
The 5th Grade math class will begin learning 2opic 2 “Use Models and Strategies to Add and Subtract Decimals” with Lesson 2-2 “Estimate Sums and Differences of Decimals” from their Envision Math Books – Volume 1. During this week, we will complete weekly in-class and homework assignments to help prepare for the Math Quiz on Topic 2 : Lesson 2-2 “Estimate Sums and Differences of Decimals” that is scheduled on Friday, 9/25. Along with learning our regular math topics, we will continue to reinforce important math skills with completing weekly Multiplication Facts Quizzes. This week the Multiplication Facts Quiz will be on Wednesday, 9/23 on Multiplication Facts 9’s and 10’s.
