Welcome to the wonderful month of February! This is a very busy month with much to celebrate and study. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, there is a definite feeling of love in the air. We will be spending time this month talking about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as well as many things about our country, including money/coins. It is very hard for preschoolers to understand what we mean by “The United States”, and we hope to be able to show them a tour of the White House. We will then be discussing Valentine’s Day and getting ready to for our Valentine’s Day celebration. We will be posting on Class Dojo things that can be donated for the celebration. We will finish off the month with Career week! We do plan on continuing our tradition of having parents come into the classroom and discuss their careers. It is a time to be creative and fun! For those parents who participated last year, it is up to you if you would like to volunteer again. Please look at your calendars for that week, and let me know via Class Dojo if you are interested in coming in. Depending on how many we get, I can set up a better schedule for everyone. Thank you for your participation!
For our Valentine’s Day party, we will be celebrating it on Friday, February 13th. If this is not your child’s normally scheduled day, please let me know if you would like them to switch or add on. We can then plan accordingly when prepping for projects that day. We ask that when you are getting the valentines ready, please only have your child sign their valentine. DO NOT address each valentine to a specific student as this makes it difficult to hand out valentines. Also, please make sure that there is one for each student. We have 18 students total.

Please keep in mind…
- In the event that your preschooler returns home in their spare set of clothing, please remember to send a replacement outfit to replace their extra clothes supply. Bathroom accidents are rare, but snack time spills are not, and we don’t want students sitting in wet or uncomfortable clothing in the cold weather.
- Lastly….GREAT JOB FAMILIES! We appreciate all that you do. Your children are absolutely wonderful! They amaze us, and make us laugh every day. We are blessed to be their teacher.
Should parents have any questions, please email me at ckelly@materdolorosaschool.org or private message via Class Dojo.
Love,
Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Rodriguez
