Preschool 3 (Ms. Feldott)

Welcome to Preschool at Mater Dolorosa School! I am so excited to begin this journey with you and your child. My name is Ms. Feldott, and this is my second year at Mater Dolorosa. I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

As we get ready for a fun and engaging school year, I know many of you are preparing at home as well. Starting school is a big step — especially for our youngest learners — and it can be both exciting and emotional. To help ease the transition and get your child ready for the classroom, here are a few simple things you can do at home:

  • Read with your child every day
  • Practice recognizing and writing their name
  • Provide opportunities for coloring and drawing
  • Play games that build early skills like matching shapes, letters, and colors
  • Work on independence in the bathroom; your child has to be confidently potty-trained per EEC guidelines

These small steps can make a big difference in helping your child feel confident and ready for the school year ahead!

Classroom Supply List

Please send the following items with your child on the first day of school:

    • Backpack: Please avoid preschool-sized and wheeled backpacks.
    • Lunchbox: If your child is bringing lunch from home, please send it in a soft lunchbox (no metal or tin, please).
    • Reusable water bottle: Please label the water bottle with your child’s name. The water bottle will travel to and from school every day.
    • Nap items: One small pillow, one small blanket, and one small stuffed animal, please pick a stuffed animal that can stay at school for the whole week. All items must fit inside a reusable shopping bag. All nap items will be sent at the end of every week to be washed.
    • Extra clothes: A full set of extra clothes (pants, shirt, underwear, socks, shoes) in a gallon-size ziplock bag labeled with your child’s name.
    • Glue sticks: 3
    • Child-safe scissors: 1
    • Crayons: 1 box of Crayola 24-pack crayons
    • Markers: 1 set of Crayola washable markers (classic colors only, no pastel colors please)
  • Crayon Box: Please try to avoid bags to hold their crayons. We are looking for boxes to store away when they are not being used.
  • A large old t-shirt: This will serve as a painting smock to avoid ruining clothes
