Preschool 4 (Mrs. Strand)

December 2, 2025

Wow, the year is flying. The children are well adjusted to our routines by now, and are doing a very good job practicing kindness in their interactions and play. I’m very proud of them.

In terms of snow gear, you are welcome to send in boots, snow pants, etc. that can stay at school. Just please make sure everything is labeled and in a reusable shopping bag, also labeled. It is also fine to send things in as needed, but again, please make sure everything is labeled.

We continue working on phonological awareness and letter recognition, in regular play, Morning Meeting, and small group work. We also continue to practice our early math skills.

Other than that, we are all about getting ready for Christmas! We are using our Advent wreath every morning to talk about preparing to welcome baby Jesus on His birthday. We’re exploring the Christmas story through books, songs, crafts, and play.

Our hat and mitten drive continues. The Student Council is also sponsoring a toy drive – donations are gratefully accepted.

On Wednesday, December 17th at 6PM we have our Christmas concert. The children are doing a wonderful job learning their songs, and are very excited to perform for you. Other upcoming events include Spaghetti Supper with Santa on Wednesday, Dec. 3rd (Santa will arrive at 5:30), and our Gingerbread Shop (details soon).

Thank you as always for sharing your children with our preschool program! They are truly wonderful and have formed a very special little community.
