Hello Families!
What a wonderful time we’ve had so far, building our little learning community. We’re now cruising toward the end of the year, with some important upcoming events and dates of note:
- May 1st MD PTO Family Fun Night at the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round. 5:30-7:30 (see link sent via Class Dojo to RSVP)
- May 3rd Mother/Daughter “High Tea” (flyer went home)
- May 4th Crowning of Mary – 1:15 PM Outside of the Social Center. All are welcome!
- May 6th – Spaghetti Supper (last one of the school year) 4-6:30 Volunteer opportunity!
- May 8th Walk-a-thon – More information has been sent home for pledges and student colors. Volunteer opportunity! Contact the office
- May 14th School Mass – 10AM
- May 14th PTO Meeting – 6PM
- May 16thth – Mother-Son Dance – flyer went home
- May 19th Preschool Field Trip to Lupa Zoo.
- May 21st – Rain date Preschool Field Trip to Lupa Zoo. May 25th
- Memorial Day– NO SCHOOL
- June 4th Preschool Fun Day – Details are on Class Dojo. Volunteer opportunity! We will need lots of hands.
- June 12th Schoolwide Field Day and BBQ. Volunteer opportunity! Check Class Dojo.
- June 16th Last day of preschool – will be a full day of school with after school program available
For the remaining weeks of preschool we will continue with our regular curriculum, focusing on phonological awareness, letter and letter sound recognition, writing, and number sense, as well as social and emotional wellness and, of course, living the message of Jesus. IN ADDITION: We are piloting a unit from Sadlier, from their new preschool curriculum, with a focus on animal habitats. We are tying this in with our “butterfly watch” with our little classroom habitat – we’re so excited to see some new friends hatch!
The children have grown so much, acquiring new social and academic skills through their work and play. I am enormously proud of each one of them, and I thank you, as always, for entrusting your children to my care.
