HAVE A BLESSED FALL!

Preschool 4 (Mrs. Strand)

What a wonderful fall we’re having in Preschool 4. I’m looking forward to seeing how our little community grows and develops this month.

We continue to work on phonological awareness and letter recognition with help from a tutor from Catapult Learning, who will be joining us twice a week to develop these important early literacy skills.

We continue playing with words that rhyme through songs, fingerplays, and games. For math we practice recognizing numerals, number ordering, and counting on.

We’ll be learning about Native Americans and their important role in the first Thanksgiving and enjoying some related crafts and stories.

We have already been working on our songs for the Christmas Concert, which will be on December 17th at 6PM. This month we will also be learning Mama Crow by Sarah Pirtle, a lovely song that features counting backwards and beautiful imagery of life on and around a mountain. And be prepared to hear about Albuquerque Turkey!

We’ll also try to work in some baking and simple science.

As for the rest of what will be happening in Preschool 4 - it will likely be directed by the children! They have wonderful ideas.
