Math 8 (Algebra):
 
We will continue to review about applying fractions with ratio, proportion and percent problems this week, and will continue this lesson after the Christmas break....using our 8th grade Algebra books "Algebra, Structure and Method - Book 1".  During this week we will begin to learn about Topic 7 "Applying Fractions - Percent Problems" with Lesson 7-6 "Percent Problems" with daily homework and in-class assignments to help prepare for the weekly quiz.  The math quiz on Topic 7-6 "Percent Problems" will be scheduled after the Christmas Holiday break on Friday, 1/10/25.
 
 
 
Religion 8:
 
We will continue with using our 8th Grade Religion books "Finding God",  and continue with Unit 2 "We Belong".  During this week we will complete Session 10  "Celebrating Advent and Christmas",  and we will focus on learning about the Advent Season - Week 3 "Joy", and Christmas.   ** Along with using our Religion books, we will learn and complete lessons with Studio 3:16, and we will continue with studying Virtues in Practice with focusing on "Hope".  The Virtue for the month of December  is "Patience....waiting or enduring without complaint".  The Saint we will learn about for the month of December is Saint Rita of Cascia. **
 
 
Math 7 (Pre-Algebra):
 
We will continue to learn about how to simplify and generate equivalent expressions this week, and complete this lesson after the Christmas break using our 7th Grade Envision Math Series - Volume 1 books.  During this week we will begin to learn about Topic 4 "Generate Equivalent Expressions" with Lesson 4-3 "Simplify Expressions" (Topic 2-3 : Simplifying Variable Expressions) in our 7th grade Pre-Algebra books with daily homework and in-class assignments to help prepare for the weekly quiz.  The math quiz on Topic 4-3 - "Simplify Expressions" (Topic 2-3 in Pre-Algebra books) will be scheduled after the Christmas Holiday break on Friday, 1/10/25.   
 
 
  
 
Math 6:
 
We will continue to learn about numeric and algebraic expressions this week using our 6th Grade Envision Math Series - Volume 1 books.  During this week we will begin to learn, and will continue this lesson after the Christmas break on Topic 3 "Numeric and Algebraic Expressions" with Lesson 3-4 "Write Algebraic Expressions" with daily homework and in-class assignments to help prepare for the weekly quiz.   The math quiz on Topic 3-4 "Write Algebraic Expressions" will be scheduled after the Christmas Holiday break on Friday, 1/10/25.  Along with learning our regular math topics each week, the students will enhance their math skills with weekly "Timed" Multiplication fact quizzes.  ** This week's "Timed" Multiplication Facts Quiz will be on Wednesday, 12/18 on Lesson 15 - Cumulative Review. **
 
 
 
Math 5:
 
We will begin to learn and review strategies to divide whole numbers using our 5th Grade Envision Math Series - Volume 1 books.  During this week we will begin to learn, and complete this lesson after the Christmas break on Topic 5 "Use Models and Strategies to Divide Whole Numbers" with Lesson 5-1 "Use Patterns and Mental Math to Divide" with daily homework and in-class assignments to help prepare for the weekly quiz. The math quiz on Topic 5-1 "Use Patterns and Mental Math to Divide" will be scheduled after the Christmas Holiday break on Friday, 1/10/25.   Along with learning our regular math topics each week, the students will enhance their math skills with weekly Multiplication fact quizzes.  ** This week's Multiplication Facts Quiz will be on Wednesday, 12/18 on Lesson 11 - "Cumulative Review" **
